Create a restaurant-style booth in the kitchen with a double bench or curved banquette. When creating a rectangular banquette both, position two covered benches of equivalent length opposite each other on each side of a rectangular table in the kitchen hook space. In larger hooks, where more space is available, create a round banquette booth with a round table and padded curved banquette.
These upholstered benches are often found in the kitchen crown hook. They are cozy; create family seating space in the kitchen and often twice as conveniently hidden storage. For something more rustic and unique, church benches make ideal curved banquette seating. The church benches are easy to find in antique shops, woodworkers or church sales, but often require painting. While this style banquette seating will not work in ultra-modern homes, it will work with almost any other home decor style. Couple versatile and comfortable pew benches with a wooden table on the same spot and wooden chairs in a similar style.
Install hinged tops on curved banquette benches and store porcelain, tablecloths, linens, towels, blankets, pillows or pots and pans in the kitchen banquette. While this storage solution is helpful for most banquette styles, pew banquettes are not sufficient for storage as a result of their open-air underside. Do not store chemicals in the banquette bench as banquette is utilised to eat.
